Active Security Solutions North Yorkshire Ltd is recruiting an experienced and professional SIA Licensed Head Door Supervisor to lead our security operations across a range of licensed venues, late-night economy sites, and events throughout Middlesbrough.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Door Supervisor looking to take on greater responsibility and play a key leadership role within our security teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of security, safety, professionalism, and customer service, while providing effective leadership and support to other members of the security team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the security team during shifts, ensuring all staff remain professional, vigilant, and compliant with company and venue procedures
- Take responsibility for the overall security operation during assigned shifts
- Allocate duties and ensure appropriate coverage of entry points, internal areas, and other designated security positions
- Manage entry and exit procedures in accordance with venue requirements and licensing conditions
- Monitor customer behaviour, crowd dynamics, and potential security risks
- Take the lead in managing incidents, disputes, refusals, removals, and emergencies in a calm and professional manner
- Provide direction and support to Door Supervisors when dealing with challenging situations
- Liaise professionally with venue management, clients, police, emergency services, and other relevant agencies when required
- Ensure all security staff understand and follow venue policies, licensing conditions, and company procedures
- Conduct regular checks of the venue and security team throughout the shift
- Ensure incidents are dealt with appropriately and reported accurately
- Complete and review incident reports, shift logs, and other required documentation
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, appearance, punctuality, and conduct across the team
- Act as a positive representative of Active Security Solutions North Yorkshire Ltd at all times
- Support the management team in identifying risks, improving procedures, and maintaining excellent client relationships
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced security professional who can confidently take charge of a team and lead by example.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Door Supervisor within licensed venues, events, or the late-night economy
- Strong leadership and team-management skills
- A professional, calm, and confident approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong conflict-management and problem-solving skills
- A proactive approach to identifying and managing security risks
- The confidence to take control of incidents when required
- Excellent standards of customer service and professionalism
- The ability to build positive working relationships with venue management and security teams
- A strong understanding of teamwork, accountability, and operational standards
Must Haves
- A valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence
- Previous experience in a senior, supervisory, or team-lead security role is highly desirable
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
- Excellent reliability and punctuality
- Strong communication skills
- A professional appearance and attitude
- The ability to lead a team effectively and remain composed under pressure
